Genevieve Anton is the principal of Anton Communications Inc., a seasoned public relations and marketing professional and a veteran journalist with 30+ years of experience as a public affairs consultant, reporter, editor and media relations specialist.
Her approach to strategic delivery of a message is enterprising, energetic and custom-tailored to each client. It includes award-winning services such as promotional efforts, media relations, issues management, interview training and community outreach, along with writing, presentations and video production.
Genevieve has provided strategic guidance and communications services to clients that include some many of the nation’s most prominent companies and organizations in the areas of real estate, travel, retail, business, litigation and professional services.
She brings to her work more than 20 years of professional journalism experience as a television producer and writer for Cable News Network (CNN) and the ABC affiliate in Denver, as well as an editor and reporter for several daily newspapers nationwide. Her writing has appeared in 50 + magazines, newspapers and national policy and journalism publications, and garnered an impressive array of awards. In other words, Genevieve knows how the media think, understands the news business and has established excellent working relationships with media and broadcast journalists nationwide.
Based on her inside knowledge and working experience with the news media, Genevieve has established excellent relationships with print and broadcast media nationwide.
Prior to becoming a journalist, Genevieve was a member of the Executive Staff of the White House, where she worked on the political team that briefed Congress on energy and environmental issues. She also served as a field producer and political researcher for Rafshoon Communications in Washington, D.C., which handled media strategy and advertising for the 1980 Democratic presidential campaign.
Genevieve earned her bachelor’s degree in public policy and communications at Duke University. She also studied at The Sorbonne in Paris and obtained a graduate degree in international relations from the University of Strasbourg, France. Genevieve is a real estate investment consultant for the global Gerson Lehrman Group and has been a speaker at real estate industry shows including PCBC and the Building Industry Association. She is active in a variety of real estate and professional organizations, including the Building Industry Association of Southern California and Orange County, the National Association of Home Builders, the Commercial Real Estate Professional Investors Group, the Real Estate Industry Group, the Real Estate Finance & Investment Society, the Real Estate Land Forum and the association of Public Relations and Communications Professionals. She is also former chair of the OCeanfront public relations committee to promote luxury hotel properties in coastal Orange County and a community advisor to the Junior League of Orange County.
